WP 679 is a wood bay window car that was originally built in 1944 by the WP Jeffrey Shop forces in Sacramento. It was converted from a 1916 era Pullman Standard outside braced wood boxcar. WP 679 is on display in a parking lot on Commerce Street in old downtown Portola, California and was recently painted and fitted with a new WP shield with assistance from the nearby Western Pacific Railroad Museum. Images were taken May 27, 2007.
