Captive Caboose - Western Pacific 646 |
WP 646 is a wood bay window car that was originally built in 1943 by the WP Jeffrey Shop forces in Sacramento. It was converted from a 1916 era Pullman Standard outside braced wood boxcar. WP 646 was recently donated to the Western Pacific Railroad Museum in Portola, CA by the Golden Gate Railroad Museum when they were forced to move from Hunters Point Shipyard in San Francisco, California to the Niles Canyon Railway facility in Sunol, California. It is without trucks and currently sits on a flat car. Images were taken May 27, 2007. |
