UP 25283 is a CA-5 steel cupola caboose. It was built as UP 3983 in August 1952 and was renumbered 25283 in June 1959. It was briefly numbered WPMW 25283 in early 1984 before becoming 903005 for maintenance-of-way service. The car was retired by Union Pacific shortly thereafter and generously donated to the Western Pacific Railroad Museum in Portola, CA where it arrived in 1985. It has since been restored to the armor yellow paint scheme. The first 4 images were taken April 24, 2005. The final image was taken on August 5, 2006.
