UP 25031 is a CA-3 steel cupola caboose. It was built as UP 3731 in May 1942 and was renumbered 25031 in January 1959. The car was retired by Union Pacific in May 1973 but its owner and where it was stored prior to its current location is unknown to me. The car is currently in the Los Angeles Junction Railway yard in Vernon, California along with UP 25033. Images were taken April 6, 2007.
