UP 24592 is a CA-13-2 class steel bay window caboose originally built in December 1967 as CRI&P (Rock Island) 17174. The car was renumbered as 24592 in May 1980 and is technically still in service and on the UP roster. It is included in this captive caboose list since it is currently laying over at the Western Pacific Railroad Museum in Portola, CA but will eventually be moved to the UP at Cheyenne, Wyoming.
