UP 24509 was originally built in November 1966 as CRI&P (Rock Island) 17091 and was renumbered as a UP CA-13-1 class car in April 1980. Union Pacific retired the car from service on September 12,1985 and donated it to the Lincoln County Agricultural Society. In January 1986 it was moved to the Lincoln County Fairgrounds in North Platte, Nebraska where it is used as a visitor information center. The car incorrectly wears the UP number 25686 (a UP CA-9 number). Images taken June 8, 2006.
