Captive Caboose - Cliffside Railroad 105
(click on thumbnail for larger photo-opens in new window)

This caboose was originally built for the Seaboard Air Line Railroad in the 1920s but I do not know the original SAL number. The Cliffside Railroad obtained the caboose sometime in the 1950s and continued its use until 1978. It was
purchased by the Spencer Moose Lodge in 1979 and later donated to the State of North Carolina. It has since been repainted and on display in the Robert Julian Roundhouse at the North Carolina Museum of Transportation in Spencer, NC. Image taken on October 11, 2006.
